The print features an antique drawing of Susanna at her Bath (1526) by Albrecht Altdorfer. The ink and graphite drawing tells the story of Susanna, a virtuous woman from the biblical Book of Daniel, who was falsely accused of adultery by two elders after she refused their advances while bathing, but her courage and truth prevailed when the prophet Daniel exposed their lies. Susanna became a symbol of female resilience and justice. She embodies the theme of the collection, Venus Envy, which celebrates the expressive and untamed power of womanhood. This collection draws inspiration from the stories of women who have defied oppression and claimed their own narratives.
