VENUS ENVY

In Collection 007: Venus Envy, Grover Rad celebrates the expressive and untamed power of womanhood.  This collection draws inspiration from the stories of women who have defied oppression and claimed their own narratives—Sappho of Lesbos, the ancient poet of desire; Susanna of the Bathhouse, who triumphed over false sexual accusations; and Medusa, whose myth embodies both rage and resilience. 

Illustrating the stories of these women through the use of intricate prints named after powerful heroines, each piece becomes a wearable statement of women’s history. Through timeless silhouettes and evocative imagery, this collection merges art and history to spark conversation. Historical etchings, oil paintings, and vintage illustrations portray the feminine form as a symbol of strength, sensuality, and defiance.
